Burns
Burns are a common childhood injury and may be caused by the sun, various chemicals, electric devices that generate heat, fire, or other objects around the house.
If your child has been burned on a small area, and there are no blisters on the skin:
- Put the area in cold water to stop the burning.
- Keep the area clean
- Do not apply butter or oil to the burned area
If your child has been burned on a small area, and there are blisters on the skin, your child needs to be seen in the office.
Call 911 if the child has a burn to a large area of the body. |
